Kirin could feel her pulse dwindle, fluttering rapidly against her ribs. This wasn't supposed to happen, she thought. She hadn't hurt anyone, she hadn't caused any real pain. She hadn't killed her father for the crimes he had committed. The metallic taste of her own fear slid down her throat, reminding her that for all her flaunting, she was still mortal.her struggles grew less and less, fluttering her wings took too much energy. The voices around her drowned out, becoming nothing but hazy mumbles to her keen ears. She could tell someone as trying to distract her captor, but it was to no avail. Morgan still drank from her. Her thoughts shifted to those of a young girl realizing that her world wasn't so safe as she had imagined it to be. Her faint heart yearned for her mother to come back, to tell her this was a dream. She had just started at this school and now she would be finished at it. She tried to let out a shriek, hopefully distracting Morgan enough to get away, but with all the energy she had left in her body it came out as less than the sound of a dying baby bird. Suddenly her energy no longer ebbed so quickly, the burn of teeth in her feathered neck had disappeared. I'm dead, she cried to herself. I've finally died. She tried blinking her eyes clear, but still a film covered them. aren't i supposed to see mummy? isn't there supposed to be a party of family members to greet me into the afterlife with open arms? This is messed up, she mentally scowled. a feeling of sadness came over her...she would never see her mother again. *And birds can't cry* her sadness was doomed to be stuck inside her, never to be released with the salty tears she desperately needed to rid herself of emotion. Wait, her mind suddenly cleared....if i'm dead, i shouldn't be a bird! i should be back to my old self! A spear of hope rushed through her veins. A voice sounded above her. "Phase back. This is a school. They don't allow magic during school hours!" she knew that voice. it was so familiar...Lucian? Yes that was his voice. Realizing that it had been him who had taken away the pain of morgan's razor fangs piercing her flesh, she hastened to comply. Gathering up what little strength she could manage, she tried to force her body to she the feathers and go back to the slim 18 year old she was born as. Her body barely tingled. Again she concentrated, squeezing her owl eyes shut, driving the need to phase back to a human body through her bones. Still nothing. she opened her eyes again, looking at the unfocused Lucian above her. No matter if he smelled of dog, he had saved her, and that had earned her compliance...but her body wasn't strong enough, it refused to do her bidding. She had shifted too many times through out the day while she stalked Morgan, had not eaten and had lost blood. *Stupid, stupid stupid* she berated herself. Hoping that Lucian could hear her thoughts, as she was sure he couldn't understand screech. *Sorry Lucian. against school rules or not...i can't shift yet. I've wasted all my reserves on following your boyfriend. And the blood he drank has made me even weaker. if it'll help, you can tell morgan i'll leave when you're around...but i won't stop following him. I need him to feed.* Knowing there was no hope in struggling against the hand holding her down, she just watched him and hoped for the best.

Karuma's words were lost on the Vampire. Morgan was planning on drinking every last drop of the bird's sweet blood. It tasted like none other and with each drop he craved more. She was too damn addictive to give up to some boy.Just because he ordered it. Only two people could stop the vampire from feeding and Karuma wasn't one of them. He sides stepped the grab kicking out at hands that tried to grab him. All the while still tasting the sweet blood that belonged to the shape shifter.
Even the growing headache that seemed to grow the moment the teacher spoke. It felt as if someone was drilling a hole in his head. Pure agony yet a stubborn streak told him to keep drinking.
Morgan [/] don't hurt her Those where the words that could command him, that shamed him.He had never fed in front of Lucien ever. He knew it upset his dearest love. So what had changed? Those were the words that gave the girl her freedom.Into his Lover's arms without a struggle.Kirin would be safe from him now she was in Lucien's custody.
It was at the moment, he gave in to the pain that seem to ebb in his brain."Damn it Karuma you didn't have to make it hurt!"He complained pushing the older boy away, before dropping down on to the other side of the table , away from Kirin and Lucien. Like a whipped hound he stayed away from his lover, unsure when he returned to the other boy's graces."You just had to ask Lucien.." He sank into the chair before cleaning his fangs and checking he once more look suitable.
Morgan didn't mean to key into her thoughts. He was still developing that skill. It was possibly because her blood still enriched his veins. " Karuma Why would a shape shifter need a vampire to feed?". The vampire for now didn't acknowledge the girl, nor offer her a return of her blood. His voice was calm, and relaxed too as if the display on the table hadn't even occurered. Just assuming the boy would know the answer, but whether or not he did or bit was yet to be seen.

"Oh." Disappointment dripped off Karuma's sigh. His arm flopped lifeless to his side in a physical display that he'd stopped tormenting Morgan and had evidently lost his fun. The shape shifter was safely taken from Morgan thus rendering his threat unnecessary and stripping him of any possible fun with his semi-prohibited power. "Sure I did." He slighted a cheery mumble. He allowed himself to be pushed backwards, taking the needed steps to hold his balance, he didn't particularly want to be that close to any of them at the moment, especially not the vampire. A wary look moved from him to the shape shifter. He studied her, concentrating for an instant on her energy static. She would be alright, eventually, and that was good enough assurance for him. They were out of the heat of trouble and if she turned back before lunch he was entirely off the hook. The young man's relaxed figure was a complete change from his fired annoyance moments before, like someone else had instantly replaced him. His expression was returned to it's half vacant stare that was inconceivably and simultaneously more wizened and aware then an apparent air head should have been. He was contemplating leaving the students to stew in their own mess but had to do a quick check to make sure that wouldn't cycle back to haunt him. The future was open wide, he was trying to pick through channels when Morgan bothered him with another question. "Karuma?" Don't groan. His lean arms crossed over each other, unwound, crossed again, and unwound once more to allow his right hand to slide across his neck and rest on the back of it. He was trying to fuel some kind of patience and ease. "Why would a shape shifter need a vampire to feed?" My g- Don't be a smart ass, boy. Karma scowled, having his mother's voice echoing in his head but it simply looked like he was frowning at Morgan's question. He'd been fresh a lot in his youth, it was a wonder he didn't recall her rebukes more often then that. Disregarding both voices in his mind, he let it fly. "Ew." He couldn't help it. The thought was repulsive in every form to him. Painful, disgusting, disturbing, messy, brutal, harmful, grotesque. His lip was curled with his bottled disgust as he looked from one blood sucker to the next. "You're one of those?" Spurn was bitterly woven into his voice on a level he hadn't intended. Despite his dislike of the survival methods of Morgan and the Shape shifter, he knew he didn't necessarily need to be so cruel to them. However, he neither flinched nor apologized, he simply moved on. "Well, Morgan, are you going to let me answer your question this time?" His eyes bore into the teen as he spoke but then he raised his eyebrows and shrugged pretending he couldn't pick out the offense. Unhesitating, his mind switched gears turning his look rather somber, the little lines formed between his blind eyes while his mind hunted for a decent way to answer. His head tilted downward for a brief study of the feathered bundle in Lucian's hold and then his eyes slid back to Morgan. "How many victims have you ever left alive?" He wondered if the kid would follow him or burst out in his loud juvenile way about how he asked a question first or how irrelevant this was. "And there's your answer. You're a tool."

Watching Kirin with desperate scrutinize, Lucian had all disregarded the two men left behind bickering like father and son for the sake of redeeming the mess and for the sole purpose of avoiding getting in trouble. Being the straight A, quiet student Lucian was, trouble was something that was a full hand scoop of loaded tragedy and despair. Of course, he knew that being in a relationship with Morgan would entail little things like getting in trouble, but dark love bird had lately been trying his best for the sake of his boyfriend. And to come to think about it, there were a lot of things the darker vampire was doing for him, the realization striking a new sensational feeling in the pit of his stomach with warm blooded invites and numb chilling aftermaths. Were they in love? The naive boy had never thought of it that way even though the boy was the light of his eyes and his relying lifeline to continue through the world without being destroyed meaningless. Right now those thoughts weren't appropriate and just created a more messy mesh to coagulate with the other relying emotions reminding him constantly of why he disliked being around people. The more he gave them a thoughtful chance, the more the emotions intruded in his mind. One with a streak of blue colored his mind and gut wrenched his stomach; this feeling was of impediment, disability, not being able to do something and hints of frustration gave it a certain distasteful edge. Another intruded next to it but it was in a churning battle with a distraught, painstaking emotion. The third sent another hair-lifting tingle over his spine, settling over his neck before it gave out with a crackling numbness. They were emotions much like himself though on a different level of comprehension. There were the similarity of contrasting powers but a glint of something the powers could do or see that caused a flutter of fret -- that same flutter of fret that agitated butterflies in his stomach. Recomposing the blank gaze of his thoughts back on Kirin hoping to see a human and a depiction in her face, to his dismay, a little bird with a thrumming heartbeat yet stood on the floor. A sigh escaped the creamy lips, his hands repositioning to a fold across his chest. About to send caring rebukes to the poor creature, a voice captured in his mind, leaving his eyes again in the same dazed, blank stare. Sorry Lucian. against school rules or not...i can't shift yet. I've wasted all my reserves on following your boyfriend. And the blood he drank has made me even weaker. if it'll help, you can tell morgan i'll leave when you're around...but i won't stop following him. I need him to feed. When the voice faded near the end, his eyelids filmed over his crimson eyes in thought. Reading minds was a hereditary nature to Lucian's thanks to his mother and the other half of his family. Not being able to dodge it in his encoded genes was basically an impossibility. With another forceful sigh, his arms untangled and stretched over the distance between him and Kirin, picking her up and cradling her between his arms like a protective mother would. The argument happening in the background was but a faint register in the back of his mind although his name and other key words were a pulsating reminder that he was accompanied by two other people. "Well I still owe you one for my boyfriend's protectiveness. I'll keep you safe until you can. Deal?"

Her heart lept. Had she known it was physically impossible, she would have sworn it had simple flown away. Lucian, the ultimate cause of the mess had offered to protect her until she was able to shift back again. Maybe she had been wrong about the guy. Sure he had some odd vampire tendencies, but who was she to judge; she followed vampires around in hopes of being able to eat the flesh off of the corpses they left behind. Her head pounded in protest at the lost blood, her neck ached as the wound started signaling that it was time to swell and try to repair the damage. Ashamed with herself for thinking that this boy was the reason for her unfortunate current state of health, she curled herself into a small mental ball. That small ball however didn't quell her anger at morgan and Karuma for the pain and lack of help they had been. Letting herself berate them in her own mind, she distracted from the throb in her neck. *Karuma, you self serving jack ass. Couldn't you have saved me for the soul fact that you didn't want to see someone hurt? And what the hell's with the disgust?! how do you think we predators feed you jerk! and don't think i didn't see that wistful look when morgan stopped! i could smell excitement under all that masking crap. And you, you temper tantrum blood drinker! there are better ways with dealing with your empathetic boyfriend than murdering everyone who upsets him! If it wasn't hounded so much by this god damn Kirin blood running through my veins i'd rip you a new one!!* Her anger was short lived and suddenly being curled up like a small child in lucian's arms became an enticing place to rest and regain her strength. In her relaxing state a thought that she had forgotten in the fray crept up again. What is Karuma? she had smelled a lot of power when he tried to stop Morgan...the only scent that overcame his was those of mythical power....He didn't give of the smell distinct to a mythical beast, but then there had been some changes since she last saw one. Maybe he could mask his smell. She had to find out. Though she had tuned out most of the conversation, she could still pick up bits and pieces of the talking. "And there's your answer. You're a tool."....well, thought kirin. that's a rather harsh way of putting it. i like to think of it more as he's my cook...much more civilized. If she had the ability to smile in her current form she would have. Though she was surprised she could even think about cracking any kind of joke with certain...dangerous...people around. Sleep was starting to over take her with more fierce than ever. Her eyelids grew heavy and she had no intention of denying her need any longer. *Thank you lucian. Very much* with that she fluffed her feathers and let herself drift off.

Morgan sank further into his chair. He looked every bit the sulky child, arms crossed and a scowl distorted his pale features. He couldn't let the simple fact Karuma was disgusted by the simple fact he was a vampire, it made a difference to the fact he was gay. That was usually what was the first thing to produce disgust in people. "Well duh, Would I ask if I knew the answer already" The boy complained, complete with its own rolling of his midnight orbs. He was determined to be good and restrain from any further outbursts, and therefore return to Lucian's good graces. Whether or not he was in the bad ones or the slight was all imagined. It didn't really matter to Morgan's mindset, "I always kill my prey" He scowled with a glance towards Lucian. It was a fact he had never disclosed to his partner but then it had never come up between them. His statement was mostly accurate, to the point he always tried to kill his prey, but he was still a young vampire so he was still learning his art.
"Well it stops now little tweety bird " His gaze turned to the small bird in Lucien's arms. His angry gaze now adding jealousy to its fire. The only one allowed to be in his lover's arms was him. "Im not you're cook, tool, personal blood bank, whatever you want to name it."He paused to take a breath. He didn't want to start a yelling war with Lucian around. He didn't want to upset his boyfriend any further than he already had. "And for the record I don't murder those that annoy him just the really annoying little birds, does that describe anyone we know?" A grin at this last remark. His tantrum cooling as he relaxed slightly. Hopefully the worst of this situation was over now, just the aftermath to deal with,
